Situated along the fertile banks of the River Tejo, this region has a long tradition of producing Portuguese wines.
Historically relevant since the Middle Ages, the Tejo benefits from a diversity of terroirs traditionally divided into Campo, Bairro and Charneca, each with distinct viticultural characteristics.
The alluvial soils near the river contribute to fresh, balanced wines, while higher areas produce Tejo wines with greater concentration and structure.
Grape varieties such as Grenache and Syrah coexist with international varieties, creating a diverse production of contemporary Portuguese wines.
Today, the Tejo is a region in renewal, increasingly recognized for the quality and consistency of its wines.
